LET US STAND WITH ISRAEL:LET US STAND WITH ISRAEL! TO DO WHAT?

By Namakando Nalikando Sinyama, B.Sc Forestry,BAHRM

Dear Editor,
Kindly allow me space in your paper to respond to the sentiments aired by a Mr. Matomola
May I know just what exactly you want the world and indeed your country Zambia to stand with Israel to do? If it is to rob a people of their land and murder them in cold blood then I want no part of it. You would do well to remember that, “ Land is power without it life has no worth.” Considering what you are advocating people to do I hope you stand alone until you fail to support the weight of your blood guiltiness on your shoulders. This is a classic example of how the whole world and especially the clergy of Christendom with their cloaks drenched in the blood of innocent civilians has allowed itself to be deceived and react to all the deeds by Israel. They want every one to believe that all the actions of Israel have predetermined divine approval no matter how atrocious. This to me is the most dangerous fallacy perpetrated by blinded leaders of Christendom and the custodians of imperialistic western hegemony. This even dwarfs the Hamitic Myth (Noah’s supposed ‘curse’of Ham one of his sons and ultimately myriads of negrescent (Blacks) after him. This story has everlastingly assigned to the African the role of servitude as divinely cursed servants of white people. This jewish fabrication of the Hamitic Myth has provided the moral pretext upon which the entire slave trade grew and flourished. If indeed they are God’s chosen race, does it then still hold to speak of God’s impartiality written about in the bible? Impartiality as a virtue entails not taking sides, treating everyone as equal.
As for your country Zambia being Christian, please move over! What manner of audacity and impudence is this? Look, for all I know even Israel is not itself a Christian nation. Did you know this Mr. Matomola? At most it may just be a secular state and that as a nation predominantly it is still awaiting a messiah! Just because some Lilliputian midget(From Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels) woke up one morning in an apparent feat of religious excess and bellowed out of his gut that the country is now Christ-like does not make it one(Chiluba's Proclamation). This declaration was flawed and ultimately void as the over-riding motive was shockingly selfishness and done as an attempt at gaining political support from gullible religious interest groups. As was seen later, when the majority of its Christian population especially the Pentecostal evangelicals closed their eyes, they looted the country’s coffers right under their noses. The only consolation was they seem to have benefited greatly from the now infamous ‘Brown envelopes’ of money that the political establishment kept dishing out wish sheer abandon all aimed at anesthetizing and blinding their collective moral consciences.

Universal morality dictates that every wrong action by an individual or country be condemned and every good deed praised thus. This is irrespective of whether one is right wing, left wing, bigot, and communist, Palestinian, Israeli, Black, yellow or white.

Peace, Love and Kindness to all men Siddhartha Gautama Buddha’s name be praised

THE REFERENDUM:SCOTLAND’S PLACE IN THE UNION OF GREAT BRITAIN

By Namakando Nalikando Sinyama B.Sc Forestry,BAHRM

This promises to be a very educative discussion indeed for many a Scot as it will no doubt be for most of us, who may be strangers to those parts but observe with keen interest the events unfolding in ALBA! However, I need not be Scottish by ancestry to see that the Union's strength and power rides (Like a Sea Anemone) on the deep cited roots of SCOTTISH Culture and tradition which has made Great Britain acquire the respect it has. The Royal residences and The Crown as an institution is awash with the Kilt, rich music from the Bag pipes, TARTAN as a textile is a key part of Royal Regalia all symbols of Scottish Tradition and Culture and NOT English symbols if there be any! With due respect I beg to be enlightened here, what is the Culture of the English that the World can and should envy them for? Is it their legendary love for Tea and organized gossip shops? Is it their wonder-lust? Is it slices of bacon with baked sweetened beans sprinkled on it ,topped up with avian fertilisation abortive products (eggs) and a few slender sausages served as repast at breakfast? Is it the barbaric and notorious Fox Hunting on Horseback? Is it their insatiable appetite for empire building even if it costs them way too much in human blood? Is it their almost necrophiliac, devilish inclination and unblessed, unbalanced relations with America that have made most of us lose our respect for everything British? Gordon Brown today struggles to govern not because he is incompetent but I have this strong suspicion the English labour MPs could have been a little bit more supportive than they have been to his premiership.

I have a strong conviction that an Independent Scotland would not have gone to that evil war in IRAQ because Scots are a proud people who are independent thinkers and i see them charting their own path in world politics. What then is the tradition of the English? Perhaps to put it more crudely what has England contributed to The UNION? There has never been a more ideal time to pull out than this; Scotland has more to lose by remaining part of the Union than if they broke free!!!

We face almost identical struggles of marginalization in Barotseland.

To the memory of all those Brave Hearts that have and continue to struggle for NATIONHOOD.

THE OLYMPIC IDEAL

By Namakando Nalikando Sinyama, B.Sc Forestry,BAHRM

"Stronger, faster, smarter, fairer and more intelligent-To the N th Degree."

The long term benefits of any sport have been well researched to warrant conflicting views from any source.

However,i would like to state from the onset that i'm not exactly a fun or supporter of competitive sports especially the combative sort.Football happens to be my favourite of all non-combative sports but ever since i embarked on a path of spiritual enlightenment i've ceased to be a fanatical supporter of any football club.I'm never confortable seeing the dejection and shame inflicted on a loosing team, this is why i've opted for neutrality.

The idea of seeing two rational beings causing one another pain and shading the life giving fluid all in the name of sport or for the love of money and so called national and individual glory causes my spirit to grieve. As for the football i enjoy to watch and play,i do it all for the 'kicks' as i would say!

The Olympic games are a global show-piece where the best proffessional men & women in all sports strieve for excellence. The underlying olympic spirit i have been told that it was envisioned they would foster international friendship, unity and co-operation.Sadly the original esssence of the games i have noticed is about to get lost as the materialistic ,ego-centric and nationalistic motives have effectively stifled the olympic spirit. This has been made evident by the unending doppingg scandals that have dogged this years games and the ones before them.Clearly the selfish ego which proclaims 'victory at all costs' has taken its toll on the pure spirit of these historic games. The other misleading mantra now is,"WINNING IS NOT EVERYTHING,IT IS ACTUALLY THE ONLY THING THERE IS!"

Watching the pugilist proffessionals at it in the ring made me realise how all this is made worse by seemingly unfair officiating by human judges. As to what extent their judgment is influenced by nationalism, regionalism, ideology or even worse racism, is not my concern right now.The poor boxing judges might well have been due to human imperfection of not scoring points for one boxer either by blinking at the critical moment, scoring wrongly or merely choosing to not to see a point scored. The use of three judges to score these matches has clearly not helped matters much.Since we still need to have humanity constantly demonstrate just how far the human physique can go,at least let these games be judged fairly.

IDEA

I suggest that the protective head gears of the boxers have electronic transmitters fitted and connected to a giant screen. This will be registering points because of the physical contact made to the head with sufficient force. This way all bias will be ruled out i hope!machines fitted in them and connected to some giant monitor or screen for all to see.A punch to the head should be hard enough so that the pressure registers as a point on seem to be better at doing some things! I know this is a very discomforting thought to realise that we as humans are creating Artificially more Intelligent machines than ourselves to a point where we will have dangerously reduced levels of involvement in our own activities?

FUTURISTIC FOOTBALL COACHING

By Namakando Nalikando Sinyama, B.Sc Forestry,BAHRM

Except from The All in my Psyche Series: Welcome to a joy ride through my inner sactum!!! Namakando Nalikando Sinyama's personal news log at www.newciv.org,

Allow your Brain cells to grow!!The best of Chi-Thinking

The Age of High-Tech sports is definately here,'no one can halt its march it is as inexonerable as the very passage of time.

THE AGE OF HIGH-TECH SPORT IS DEFINITELY HERE !

I have observed with bewilderment how football coaches get obsessed with the game while on touchline or bench. Their passion can be explained in several ways. For one, some coaches seem to be young enough to even be the ones playing so that when they see their players fumbling the game plan it just cooks their gander. The other reason could be that they are so scared of loosing because in some leagues that may well decide whether a coach keeps his job or gets the sack. Therefore, this is why they scream so loudly off the bench.

The trouble is that they are rarely ever heard despite their dramatic screaming and endless gesturing because the players are too busy focusing on the game. This again goes to show that the coaching done at the training pitch during the practice sessions is scarcely enough as the opposing teams come up with different strategies that eventually it inevitably calls for an immediate revision of their pre-game plan. These screams from the coaches are so important that they have sometimes made the difference between scoring or conceding a goal and ultimately deciding whether a game is won or lost in the 90 minutes.

The alternative to the Viking like screams from the bellows of their gut would be the use of bullhorns or hailers. This would no doubt be very noisy to the point of sucking out the fun of watching a game. Moreover, any strategic instructions are best heard only by the targeted players not the current situation where even the opponent gets to hear what the other is being told.

IDEA

The player’s strips should have transmitters fitted on them on the breast part of their jersey. The coaching staff should have a contraption consisting of a panel with a button for each player that is tuned to a specific frequency for each strip. When ever a coach wants to communicate instructions to a player they can be easily and quietly reached by a touch of a button in ‘Star Trek’ fashion! It effectively brings to an end that cumbersome sight of seeing a player ran to the touchline in the middle of a game or the coaches waiting until half time to give those critical tit-bits.

This I hope will go a long way in saving the coaches’ vocal cords from splitting and avoiding unnecessary hassles from the officiating staff for over exuberance and overstepping some line that acts a dotted prison barrier. It would definitely be interesting to hear what FIFA’s take would be on this idea.

We have too many men of science, too few men of GOD. We have grasped the mystery of the atom and rejected the Sermon on the Mount…ours is a world of Nuclear Giants and Ethical Infants. We know more about WAR than we know about PEACE, more about killing than we know about living. Humanity is in danger of being trapped in this world by Moral Adolescence.”

-General Omar N. Bradley, in his Armistice Day address

It is common knowledge or I hope it is, that Humans have the power to decide their own destiny. It therefore goes without saying that the belief in FATE ( Kis’met in Arabic ) is in all reason and logic fallacious. Human beings are not ANDROIDS (Star Trek creations) or an army of robots living a life pre-programmed into microchips imbedded into our brains. If this were the case you will agree that that would make the concept of us having a free will (one of our greatest weapons against self destruction) seem a philosophical myth or a childish prank. I have noticed that in order to live fulfilling lives we have come up with general sets of values. I , on the other hand , am of the opinion that, in addition to these general rules of behaviour each one of us have either consciously or sub-consciously established personal ethics or codes of conduct. I today as I write challenge humanity to re-evaluate these rules and assess whether we are living better lives in the light of our set moral bench-marks, hall-marks or touch stones.

I have through the years examined my life and that of others. I have come to a shocking discovery! So I felt i should write it down maybe posterity will understand me and be helped not to make a sodding mess of their lives on their world as we have. As for the revelation of the discovery, as the Scottish would say, Hang on to your Kilts then I!

I had to reach out into my inner self to fathom this concept. This you will no doubt appreciate called for a greater spiritual enlightenment with the depth of the Buddhist’s NIRVANA, which in Buddhism, “ is a state of mind in which individuality becomes extinct by being absorbed into the supreme spirit.”

The whole of human life revolves around the acquisition of money, social status and power everything else comes about as by-the-way benefits. This you will be surprised even includes such coveted states of body and mind as Happiness. It all boils down to this if you are of a lower social standing then you do not count, you are a minute lilliputian figurine, your thoughts or opinion is never considered much. That is why, I will forever maintain that contrary to common belief, ‘ the lack of money is the root of all evil.’ I have also concluded that it is us the poor people who evidently have never attained orpulence or affluence who propagate the notion that money does not bring about happiness thus have not the foggiest idea of what added benefits the possession of money has. When the filthy rich folks, who obviously should know better, echo this this sentiment,I have hypothesised that it is their way making the poor be happy in their state of poverty. Pretty smart of them don’t you think? Thus avoiding to over crowd their world of permanent bliss. Perhaps to put it more crudely, “ Happiness in the deferred fulfillment of a prehistoric wish. This is why wealth brings so little happiness. Money is NOT an infantile wish!
- Sigmund Freud (Psychoanalyst)

I think Happiness is an abstract metaphysical philosophical concept, the presence of which is determined by ones state of mind.So whether poor or rich one can choose to either be Happy or Miserable. Well, I hope I’m making sense ,at least to even to myself, in the end I believe that is all that matters.

Money, paper money that is, to me is nothing but once plain sheets of paper cut in a rectangular shape and painted! It is actually that worthless if you seriously think about it as I have. This may be easy for me to say and thus may be viewed as a naïve outlook on money because I don’t have enough of it to appreciate what it is capable of doing. TRUE! But it is surely the same paper; it is just the quantities we have of it that differ. In our world those that don’t have it are viewed as worthless pathetic freaks of natures creations and subsequently demoted to the level of sub-humans. Those that have enough of it are idolized, revered, venerated and welded on a pedestal. Tracy Chapman put it this way, “ Money is only paper, only ink, we’ll destroy ourselves if can’t agree.” To me the whole thing is such a big joke I laugh! The result is that our view of what is wrong or right is distorted, our values are eroding fast. Thankfully I still have mine in check though. Materialism in this modern world is at its peak. People are no longer liked by virtue of them being, HUMAN, but now a lot of factors come into play. To illustrate:
1. What is he/She? No longer who is he /she (to me human should be enough reason to like someone)
2. How many zeroes does the figure in his account have?
3. Does he or she drive?
4. What type of clothes do they wear, designer clothes?
You know that kind of nonsense.

Life then is meaningless now. You are born; live for 80 years, and DIE, yes DIE. This typically epitomizes life, a harsh but true antithesis of a happy existence. I am depressed yes and disappointed in my race. Don’t worry I am not having suicidal tendencies I am not that dumb to do myself in and prematurely meet my maker. I don’t know about others but I have a lot to live for. Granted I have found life in general to be such a drag sometimes. It’s just my philosophical opinions energetically jostling for release.

I end by saying, “In China you see, it is MAN who is the beast of burden. To be harassed by the wear and tear of life and to pass rapidly without the possibility of arresting one’s course - is this not pitiful indeed? To labour without ceasing and then, without living to enjoy the fruit, worn out, to depart suddenly, one knows not whither-Is not this just cause for grief?”
-So wrote a CHINESE Mystic
