MINISTRY OF MISINFORMATION AND DECEIT ON THE BAROTSELAND QUESTION

THIS WAS MY SUBMISSION TO LUSAKA TIMES.COM WHICH WAS NOT PUBLISHED FOR WHAT EVER REASONS (CENSORED)

Sir Knox Cunningham (South Antrim)

"Did not President Kaunda undertake, on Zambia's becoming independent, to reconfirm the independence of Barotseland? Instead, has he not made it a local Government province of Zambia? And are these the people who talk about moral principles in Rhodesia?"
John Biggs-Davison (Chigwell)
asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Affairs what communication he has received from the President of Zambia about the modification of the Barotseland Agreement 1964.
Sir Knox Cunningham (South Antrim)
asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Affairs what official representation the President of Zambia has made to him concerning the amendment of the Barotseland Agreement of 1964.
Mrs Judith Hart (Lanark)
None, Sir.
Mr John Biggs-Davison (Chigwell)
Is this not very strange, since President Kaunda undertook at Lancaster House to reconfirm, after independence, this agreement which was confirmed in the Independence Act? Since the Barotse National Council has now been dissolved without the consent of that Council or the Litunga, is not the honour of Her Majesty's Government —bearing in mind the signature of the Secretary of State's predecessor on the agreement—involved, as well as that of President Kaunda?
Mrs Judith Hart (Lanark)
No, I could not agree with the hon. Gentleman. All is now perfectly calm in Barotseland. Since Zambia became independent, these matters have become essentially the internal affairs of a sovereign State.

There are clearly many views on the kind and nature of moral principles involved in these issues at present. However, on this particular matter, it is clear that once a country becomes independent these matters become issues for its own internal decision.
Mr John Biggs-Davison (Chigwell)
On a point of order. In view of the cynically unsatisfactory nature—
Dr Horace King (Southampton, Itchen)
Order. There is no need for the hon. Member to add words to the conventional phraseology.
Mr John Biggs-Davison (Chigwell)
Further to that point of order. In view of the unsatisfactory nature of the Minister's reply, I beg to give notice that I shall seek to raise this matter on the Adjournment at the earliest possible opportunity.

What i would want to say to ALL Tonga’s, zambians and to His Most ‘Wise’ Chief Macha is that he is well within his rights to say what he pleases but what i extremely doubt is whether he or most zambians are aware of the above information. I believe it was the late Her Ladyship Gladys Mutukwa who once said , “ Having very little knowledge is damaging.”
Most zambians comment on this matter (The Barotseland Question) like they do on most other issues from points of utterly shocking and embarrassing ignorance. Most people have inherited a form of passed on hatred and dislike for Lozis and have resorted to calling us selfish without taking time to understand who we are as a people and a Nation.

THE FOLLOWING LUSAKA TIMES.COM BLOG SUBMISSIONS BELOW BETWEEN TWO ZAMBIANS WERE OBVIOUSLY DEEMED VERY INTELLECTUALLY BENEFICIAL TO ZAMBIANS AND WERE PUBLISHED AS BELOW.

For those not in the know, the above discourse was littered with preferably unprintable and unrepeatable vulgarities but it was published anyway!

We observe with keen interest how in a calculated way ,Zambians have not been allowed, deliberately of course, to know certain things about their country’s total history and formation especially regarding the position of the Nation of Barotseland in their chain of being. Who has noticed how much the Zambian Resource atlas has been modified and changed to present information though distorted but deemed more palatable? Have you noticed how everything about us borders on sedition, treason and what not? I have always wondered how I was made to study about socalled zambian ‘kingdoms’ when these areas were ruled by chiefs, instead of calling them chiefdoms. Only Barotseland with its long line of recognizable and traceable KINGS deserves and deserved to be truly called a KINGDOM, so NO semantic gymnastics here pure and simple. Who has noticed that it is only now that you get to hear of ethnic groups having what they are calling ROYAL ESTABLISHMENTS when we have had ours for millennia. Do they really know what Royal means?

If only they can take time to listen to The National Anthem of Barotseland and understand the meaning of our National Flag, then just maybe they would have an idea makes us what we are as a people and a NATION, so different from them. This explains why we as Barotseland will never be party to what they are doing to destroy zambia and the political joke it has become. Some things happening in zambia are just shocking. To tell you the truth back home in Barotseland we can never condone such kinds of blockheaded imbecility.

I believe and strongly so that we do know better…….
